Abstract:

The paper deals with the application of two criterial parameters, viz. the Arias intensity and the average power, in the classification of dynamic loads exerted on a building due to mining quakes. This classification is based on the sensitivity of the construction to such quakes, with the dynamic purpose of detecting those loads which provoke the most extreme dynamic response of the building. The analyzed loads in the form of accelerating excitations were recorded in four seismological stations at Polkowice in the Copper Mining District of Legnica and Głogów. It has been found, that there exists a considerable relation between the aforesaid parameters characterizing these excitations and the dynamic response of the tested building.
